Open a chat and the message keys stay on your device. We see metadata at most — never your words, your photos, or your voice. Even if our servers were compromised, the conversation stays yours.

Set a timer and O'Chat erases the message from both devices and our servers once it has been opened and the time is up. No recovery on our side, no plaintext on the wire. While it's open, screenshots and screen recordings come out black — though nothing can stop someone photographing the screen with another camera.

New backups are locked with your backup password, which only you know — we can't open them, and we can't reset the password. Older backups still open with the recovery key they were made with. Automatic daily backups, Wi-Fi only if you want.
