Messages and media are encrypted on your device and decrypted only on the recipient's. We never hold the keys that decrypt them. No plaintext on the wire.
Burn-after-read messages
Set a message to vanish seconds after it's seen. Once burned, O'Chat removes it from both devices and our servers — no copies, no recovery on our side, no plaintext on the wire.
Group chats
Up to hundreds of members. Pin important messages, mute noisy ones, share locations, send stickers, search history.
Self-chat
A private space just for you. Save links, jot ideas, draft notes only you can read — all end-to-end encrypted, never round-tripped through our servers.
Voice messages
Hold to record, release to send. Voice notes travel with the same end-to-end encryption as every text — only the people in the chat can play them.
Encrypted cloud backup
Back up to Google Drive or iCloud, sealed before it leaves your phone. Only your recovery key can open a backup — we never can.

Is O'Chat really free?
Yes. O'Chat's core messaging is free on iOS and Android. We don't sell your data and we don't have access to your message content.
Can O'Chat read my messages?
No. Every message, photo, and voice note is encrypted on your device with keys we never hold. Our servers only see encrypted blobs. Even if we were compelled to hand over data, we can't decrypt what we don't have keys for.
How does burn-after-read work?
Set a timer on a message and O'Chat removes it from both devices and our servers the moment the recipient sees it. No recovery on our side, no silent backup, no plaintext copy on our wire. Screenshots are still up to whoever is in the chat — like any conversation.
What happens when I delete my account?
Your profile, contacts, message metadata, settings, and tokens are permanently removed within 90 days. Encrypted backups are purged on the same schedule. Messages already delivered to other devices remain on those devices, subject to their own retention. See our deletion page for the full process.
What happens when I switch to a new phone?
O'Chat is signed in on one device at a time. Before switching, create an encrypted backup from Settings → Backup — keys, chat history, and attachments are sealed with a password only you know. On the new device, sign in and restore from that backup to bring everything across.
What makes O'Chat different from other messaging apps?
Privacy first, by default. O'Chat stays focused on messaging — no data business, no feature creep.
What languages does the O'Chat app support?
The O'Chat mobile app is available in three languages — Malay, Simplified Chinese, and English. Switch anytime from Settings → Language.
