End-to-end encryption
Messages and media are encrypted on your device and decrypted only on the recipient's. We never hold the keys that decrypt them. No plaintext on the wire.
Burn-after-read messages
Set a message to vanish seconds after it's seen. Once burned, O'Chat removes it from both devices and our servers — no copies, no recovery on our side, no plaintext on the wire.
Your data isn't for sale
We can't read your messages, so nothing inside them is sold, profiled, or used to target you. Your chats and media never become someone else's data.
Group chats
Up to hundreds of members. Pin important messages, mute noisy ones, share locations, send stickers, search history.
Voice messages
Hold to record, release to send. Voice notes travel with the same end-to-end encryption as every text — only the people in the chat can play them.
Cloud backup
Back up to Google Drive or iCloud, and restore your chats on a new phone in a few taps.

Back up your chats to Google Drive or iCloud, encrypted end-to-end before they leave your phone. New backups are locked with your backup password, which only you know — we can't open them, and we can't reset the password. Older backups still open with the recovery key they were made with. Automatic daily backups, Wi-Fi only if you want.

Quick answers about privacy, devices, and how O'Chat works.
Yes. O'Chat's core messaging is free on iOS and Android. We don't sell your data and we don't have access to your message content.
No. Every message, photo, and voice note is encrypted on your device with keys we never hold. Our servers only see encrypted blobs. Even if we were compelled to hand over data, we can't decrypt what we don't have keys for.
Choose a timer before you send — 30 seconds, 1 hour, or 1 day. The message can be opened once; when its time is up after opening, O'Chat erases it from both devices and our servers. No recovery on our side, no plaintext copy on our wire. While it's open, screenshots and screen recordings come out black on Android and iPhone, and on iPhone the chat also shows when someone takes a screenshot. Nothing can stop someone photographing the screen with another camera.
Your account is first scheduled for deletion: sign in again within 30 days and tap Restore Account to keep it. Restoring brings back your account, not the chats erased from your phone — those come back only from a backup. After 30 days the deletion is permanent and the account can't be restored. Your profile, contacts, message metadata, settings, and tokens are permanently removed within 90 days. Encrypted backups are purged on the same schedule. Messages already delivered to other devices remain on those devices, subject to their own retention. See our deletion page for the full process.
O'Chat is signed in on one device at a time. Before switching, create an encrypted backup in Settings → Chat backup — keys, chat history, and attachments are locked with your backup password, which only you know and we can't reset. Older backups still open with the recovery key they were made with. On the new device, sign in and restore from that backup to bring everything across.
Privacy first, by default. O'Chat stays focused on messaging — no data business, no feature creep.
